During August to November 2020, we held multiple online and in-person training sessions to help explore how schools and individuals could do their part to help curb local paper wastage.

Online and In-Class Training

Training was conducted over a three-day period between August 13 and 15, 2020. The first two days covered the theoretical aspects of processing recycled paper and were delivered via Zoom, while the third day dealt with the practical aspect and was held at GIDC’s training room.  Twenty-seven (27) participants completed the training.

Grenada Youth Center

During the period November 19-20, 2020, training was held with youth officers at the New Imani program along with group members of a Telescope youth group. Thirty-four (34) participants completed the workshop held at the Youth Centre, Grand Anse, St. George.

Grand Anse Social Development Centre

On November 26-27, 2020 fifteen (15) students along with teachers at the Centre completed the workshop. A short closing ceremony was held along with the distribution of equipment and materials to continue the process.

Happy Hill Secondary School

The workshop was held at the Happy Hill Secondary School on February 9th, 11th, and 12th, 2020. A total of twenty (20) Students and two (2) teachers completed the training.

St. Andrew’s Life Centre (SALC)-NEWLO

The workshop was held at the New Life Organisation-St. Andrew’s Life Centre (SALC) at Mt. St. Ervans on February 15th. 16th, and 18th, 2020. A total of twenty (20) Students and three (3) teachers completed the training.

The project was also successfully completed at Westerhall and Hillsborough Secondary school and is expected to conclude November 2021
