Created by and funded by the US Embassy, AWE is an educational opportunity for potential women entrepreneurs, that uses a facilitated MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) called DreamBuilder at its core.
Projects
Academy for Women Entrepreneurs
AWE is designed for energetic women with entrepreneurial ideas. Participants need not be in business already or have a developed business plan.
Participants gather in-person to view each DreamBuilder session (or to discuss the topic after each participant views the session online). Meeting together allows participants to network and learn from one another and significantly increases overall completion rates.
A facilitator, chosen from local alumni, business leaders, or other mission contacts, leads the in-person discussions.
Provide resources for women to engage in U.S-style online education with guided facilitation and localization from ECA alumni, local women business leaders, or other local partners.
Foster networks that support participants’ access to peer-to-peer mentorship, business partners, and scaling opportunities with businesses in the region and in the United States.
Provide access to a wide range of high-level ECA programs tailored to women’s economic empowerment to expand the effects of participation.
This program will be implemented by the GIDC in 2021.
